Il Museo Civico Archeologico G. Rambotti, inaugurato nel 1990 e intitolato a Giovanni Rambotti, raccoglie numerosi reperti archeologici provenienti dal territorio di Desenzano del Garda, con particolare attenzione alle palafitte preistoriche del basso Garda bresciano. L’elevata umidità della zona ha contribuito a preservare in ottimo stato queste abitazioni, offrendo preziose informazioni sullo stile di vita dell’epoca.

Tra gli oggetti più interessanti vi sono l’aratro del Lavagnone, considerato tra i più antichi del mondo e risalente indicativamente al 2000 a.C., e la ricostruzione di una capanna preistorica, oltre alla sala dedicata all’artigianato locale.

Una sezione del museo è invece riservata ai periodi successivi, dall’età romana al Rinascimento e al periodo in cui Desenzano del Garda era sotto la dominazione della Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia, permettendo ai visitatori di seguire l’evoluzione storica più recente del territorio.

The Museo Civico Archeologico G. Rambotti, opened in 1990 and named after Giovanni Rambotti, houses numerous archaeological finds from the Desenzano del Garda area, with a particular focus on prehistoric pile-dwelling settlements of the lower Garda region. The high humidity of the area has helped preserve these dwellings in excellent condition, providing valuable insights into the lifestyle of the time.

Highlights include the Lavagnone plow, considered one of the oldest in the world, dating roughly to 2000 B.C., a reconstruction of a prehistoric hut, and a room dedicated to local craftsmanship.

Another section of the museum is devoted to later periods, from Roman times through the Renaissance and the era when Desenzano del Garda was under the rule of the Venetian Republic, allowing visitors to explore the more recent historical developments of the area.

Das Museo Civico Archeologico G. Rambotti, eröffnet 1990 und benannt nach Giovanni Rambotti, beherbergt zahlreiche archäologische Funde aus der Umgebung von Desenzano del Garda, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf prähistorischen Pfahlbauten im unteren Gardaseegebiet. Die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit der Region hat dazu beigetragen, diese Häuser in hervorragendem Zustand zu erhalten und wertvolle Einblicke in die Lebensweise der damaligen Zeit zu geben.

Zu den Highlights zählen der Pflug von Lavagnone, einer der ältesten der Welt, ca. 2000 v. Chr., die Nachbildung einer prähistorischen Hütte und ein Raum, der dem lokalen Kunsthandwerk gewidmet ist.
