Situato sul Monte Tombio, sopra Riva del Garda a circa 750 metri di quota, il forte rappresentava una struttura militare all’avanguardia per l’epoca. Il sistema difensivo comprendeva il forte principale, un fortino sul versante nord-orientale e uno sbarramento stradale a Campi-Pranzo, costituito da una casamatta in calcestruzzo protetta da reticolati e mine.
La struttura era circondata da un fossato scavato nella roccia e dotata di una cupola osservatorio. L’armamento prevedeva obici in torrette corazzate girevoli e numerose mitragliatrici, oltre a riflettori a scomparsa. Erano presenti anche postazioni protette per fucilieri e feritoie blindate, mentre le finestre erano chiuse da robuste imposte in ferro.

Located on Mount Tombio above Riva del Garda at about 750 meters above sea level, the fort was a technologically advanced military structure for its time. The defensive system included the main fort, a smaller outpost on the northeastern slope, and a roadblock at Campi-Pranzo consisting of a concrete casemate protected by barbed wire and mines.
The fort was surrounded by a rock-cut ditch and equipped with an observation dome. Its armament included howitzers in rotating armored turrets, several machine guns, and retractable searchlights. It also featured protected positions for riflemen, armored loopholes, and iron window shutters.

Das auf dem Monte Tombio oberhalb von Riva del Garda in etwa 750 Metern Höhe gelegene Fort war für seine Zeit eine technisch fortschrittliche Militäranlage. Das Verteidigungssystem bestand aus dem Hauptfort, einem kleineren Vorwerk am nordöstlichen Hang sowie einer Straßensperre bei Campi-Pranzo mit einer Betonkasematte, geschützt durch Stacheldraht und Minen.
Die Anlage war von einem in den Fels gehauenen Graben umgeben und verfügte über eine Beobachtungskuppel. Zur Bewaffnung gehörten Haubitzen in drehbaren Panzertürmen, mehrere Maschinengewehre sowie versenkbare Scheinwerfer. Zudem gab es geschützte Stellungen für Schützen, gepanzerte Schießscharten und Fensterläden aus Eisen.
