Il Museo Il Divino Infante di Gardone Riviera ospita una straordinaria collezione dedicata all’iconografia di Gesù Bambino, unica nel suo genere. La raccolta nasce dalla passione della collezionista tedesca Hiky Mayr, che si occupa personalmente anche del restauro delle opere, contribuendo alla conservazione di un patrimonio artistico di grande valore storico e culturale.
La collezione comprende centinaia di pezzi tra statue antiche, manufatti artistici e oggetti devozionali realizzati con tecniche e materiali diversi: legno intagliato e policromo, cera, terracotta e cartapesta. Un insieme eterogeneo che racconta oltre quattro secoli di rappresentazioni del tema del Bambino Gesù, dal neonato avvolto in fasce al piccolo sovrano riccamente vestito, fino alle interpretazioni più tradizionali.
Accanto alle opere dedicate al Divino Infante si trovano anche rare raffigurazioni di Maria Bambina, tutte restaurate con grande cura. Particolarmente rilevante è inoltre la sezione dedicata ai presepi storici, con un’attenzione speciale alle statue ottocentesche del presepe napoletano, recuperate dopo anni di ricerca nei mercatini antiquari e oggi valorizzate attraverso accurati interventi di restauro.
Il museo si trova a Gardone Riviera, sulla sponda occidentale del Lago di Garda, a breve distanza dal Vittoriale degli Italiani, e ospita anche mostre temporanee ed esposizioni tematiche.

The Il Divino Infante Museum in Gardone Riviera hosts an extraordinary collection dedicated to the iconography of the Infant Jesus, unique of its kind. The collection was created by German collector Hiky Mayr, who also personally oversees the restoration of the works, helping preserve an important artistic, historical, and cultural heritage.
The collection includes hundreds of pieces such as antique statues, artworks, and devotional objects made using different techniques and materials: carved and polychrome wood, wax, terracotta, and papier-mâché. This diverse ensemble illustrates more than four centuries of representations of the Infant Jesus, from the swaddled newborn to the richly dressed little king, as well as more traditional depictions.
Alongside the works dedicated to the Divine Infant, there are also rare representations of the Child Virgin Mary, all carefully restored. Of particular importance is the section dedicated to historic nativity scenes, especially the 19th-century Neapolitan Nativity figures, recovered over decades of research in antique markets and now enhanced through meticulous restoration work.
The museum is located in Gardone Riviera, on the western shore of Lake Garda, just a short distance from the Vittoriale degli Italiani, and also hosts temporary exhibitions and thematic displays.

Das Museum Il Divino Infante in Gardone Riviera beherbergt eine außergewöhnliche Sammlung, die der Ikonografie des Jesuskindes gewidmet ist und in dieser Form einzigartig ist. Die Sammlung geht auf die deutsche Sammlerin Hiky Mayr zurück, die sich auch persönlich um die Restaurierung der Werke kümmert und so zur Bewahrung eines bedeutenden künstlerischen, historischen und kulturellen Erbes beiträgt.
Die Sammlung umfasst Hunderte von Objekten, darunter antike Statuen, Kunstwerke und Andachtsgegenstände aus verschiedenen Materialien und Techniken wie geschnitztem und polychromem Holz, Wachs, Terrakotta und Pappmaché. Dieses vielfältige Ensemble dokumentiert über vier Jahrhunderte der Darstellung des Jesuskindes – vom gewickelten Neugeborenen über den reich gekleideten kleinen König bis hin zu traditionellen Darstellungen.
Neben den Werken des Göttlichen Kindes gibt es auch seltene Darstellungen der Kindheits-Maria, die alle sorgfältig restauriert wurden. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Bereich der historischen Krippen, insbesondere die neapolitanischen Krippenfiguren des 19. Jahrhunderts, die über viele Jahre auf Antiquitätenmärkten gesammelt und durch aufwendige Restaurierungen aufgewertet wurden.
Das Museum befindet sich in Gardone Riviera am Westufer des Gardasees, nur wenige Schritte vom Vittoriale degli Italiani entfernt, und beherbergt auch wechselnde Ausstellungen und thematische Präsentationen.
