Lago di Valvestino e Dogana di Lignano

Il Lago di Valvestino è un bacino artificiale di grande fascino, caratterizzato da scenari spettacolari che evocano atmosfere nordiche. Si trova lungo l’asse stradale che unisce il Lago d’Idro al Lago di Garda ed è controllato dalla Diga di Ponte Cola, realizzata sul torrente Toscolano.

Tra gli elementi distintivi del Lago di Valvestino spiccano le sue splendide insenature, che richiamano i fiordi norvegesi, e le pareti rocciose a picco sull’acqua. Il paesaggio regala una sequenza di scorci suggestivi immersi in un’atmosfera di quiete, lontana dal traffico del Garda, fino a quando, all’improvviso, compare all’orizzonte la maestosa diga.

In determinati momenti dell’anno, quando il livello dell’acqua si abbassa in modo significativo, riaffiorano le suggestive vestigia della Dogana di Lignago. Un tempo questo edificio segnava il confine oltre il quale si entrava nei territori dell’Impero Austriaco; oggi, ciò che resta, modellato dall’azione dell’acqua, assume l’aspetto di una struttura misteriosa, simile a un piccolo castello sospeso nel tempo

Lake Valvestino is an artificial reservoir of great charm, featuring spectacular landscapes that evoke a Nordic atmosphere. It lies along the road connecting Lake Idro to Lake Garda and is regulated by the Ponte Cola Dam, built on the Toscolano stream.

Among the lake’s most distinctive features are its beautiful inlets, reminiscent of Norwegian fjords, and the sheer rocky cliffs rising from the water. The scenery offers a series of striking views in a peaceful setting, far from the crowds around Lake Garda, until the majestic dam suddenly appears on the horizon.

At certain times of the year, when the water level drops significantly, the evocative remains of the Dogana di Lignago resurface. This building once marked the border beyond which one entered the territories of the Austrian Empire; today, what remains, shaped by the water over time, takes on the appearance of a mysterious structure, like a small castle suspended in time.

Der Valvestino-See ist ein künstliches Staugewässer von großer Anziehungskraft, das durch spektakuläre Landschaften besticht, die nordische Atmosphären hervorrufen. Er liegt entlang der Straße, die den Idro-See mit dem Gardasee verbindet, und wird von der Ponte-Cola-Talsperre am Toscolano-Bach reguliert.

Zu den markantesten Merkmalen des Sees gehören seine wunderschönen Buchten, die an norwegische Fjorde erinnern, und die steilen Felswände, die direkt aus dem Wasser aufsteigen. Die Landschaft bietet eine Abfolge beeindruckender Ausblicke in einer ruhigen Atmosphäre, fernab vom Trubel am Gardasee, bis plötzlich die majestätische Staumauer am Horizont auftaucht.

Zu bestimmten Jahreszeiten, wenn der Wasserstand stark sinkt, tauchen die eindrucksvollen Überreste der Dogana di Lignago wieder auf. Einst markierte dieses Gebäude die Grenze, jenseits derer man in die Gebiete des österreichischen Kaiserreichs gelangte; heute wirkt das, was davon übrig ist, geformt durch das Wasser, wie eine geheimnisvolle Struktur, ähnlich einem kleinen, in der Zeit schwebenden Schloss.
