Dalle ceneri del Drago Vaia nasce una nuova imponente figura che torna a vivere a Lavarone.
Realizzata con circa 6 tonnellate di legno carbonizzato, misura 16 metri di lunghezza e 7 metri di altezza, distinguendosi come una delle più grandi sculture lignee raffiguranti un drago. L’opera prende forma dalle radici e dai materiali recuperati dopo la tempesta Vaia. Il legno, intenzionalmente bruciato dall’artista Marco Martalar, conserva i segni del fuoco e dell’incendio che ha distrutto la precedente scultura.
Questi elementi, uniti tra loro, danno vita a una nuova creazione carica di significato. Rispetto al passato, il drago si presenta con un aspetto più deciso e meno rassicurante, pensato per trasmettere un messaggio più profondo. Non è soltanto una figura simbolica che richiama l’attenzione sul rapporto tra uomo e natura, ma diventa un vero e proprio custode di memoria e di storie. Rappresenta la rinascita, la resilienza e ricorda l’importanza di mantenere rispetto e umiltà di fronte alla forza della natura.
COME RAGGIUNGERE IL SENTIERO DEL DRAGO
Per accedere al percorso tematico “Sentiero del Drago”, si parte dalla località Gionghi seguendo le indicazioni per Magrè Tablat.
Una volta raggiunta la Tana Incantata, è sufficiente seguire la segnaletica dedicata al Sentiero del Drago.
Il percorso si sviluppa sull’altopiano del Tablat, in una zona prevalentemente pianeggiante sopra Magrè, per una lunghezza di circa 2,5 km. È un itinerario adatto anche alle famiglie.

From the ashes of the Vaia Dragon, a new impressive figure has risen and returned to Lavarone.
Made from around 6 tons of charred wood, it measures 16 meters in length and 7 meters in height, standing out as one of the largest wooden dragon sculptures in the world.
The artwork is created using roots and materials recovered after the Vaia storm. The wood, intentionally burned by artist Marco Martalar, preserves the marks of fire and the blaze that destroyed the previous sculpture. These elements come together to form a new creation rich in meaning.
Compared to the past, this dragon has a stronger and less gentle appearance, designed to convey a deeper message. It is not just a symbolic figure reflecting on the relationship between humans and nature, but also a guardian of memory and stories. It represents rebirth and resilience, reminding us of the importance of respect and humility in the face of nature’s power.
HOW TO REACH THE DRAGON TRAIL
To access the themed “Dragon Trail,” start from the Gionghi area and follow the signs towards Magrè Tablat.
Once you reach the “Tana Incantata,” continue by following the signs for the Dragon Trail.
The route runs across the Tablat plateau, a mostly flat area above Magrè, and extends for approximately 2.5 km. It is suitable for families.

Aus der Asche des Vaia-Drachen ist eine neue, eindrucksvolle Figur entstanden, die in Lavarone wieder zum Leben erwacht ist.
Die Skulptur besteht aus etwa 6 Tonnen verkohltem Holz, ist 16 Meter lang und 7 Meter hoch und zählt zu den größten Holz-Drachenskulpturen weltweit. Das Kunstwerk wurde aus Wurzeln und Materialien gefertigt, die nach dem Vaia-Sturm geborgen wurden.
Das Holz wurde vom Künstler Marco Martalar bewusst verbrannt und bewahrt die Spuren des Feuers, das die vorherige Skulptur zerstört hat. So entsteht eine neue, bedeutungsvolle Form. Im Vergleich zur früheren Version wirkt der Drache kraftvoller und weniger sanft, um eine tiefere Botschaft zu vermitteln. Er ist nicht nur eine symbolische Figur, die zum Nachdenken über die Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Natur anregt, sondern auch ein Hüter von Erinnerungen und Geschichten. Er steht für Wiedergeburt und Widerstandskraft und erinnert daran, wie wichtig Respekt und Demut gegenüber der Natur sind.
ANREISE ZUM DRACHENWEG
Um den Themenweg „Drachenweg“ zu erreichen, startet man in Gionghi und folgt den Wegweisern in Richtung Magrè Tablat. Sobald man die „Tana Incantata“ erreicht hat, folgt man der Beschilderung zum Drachenweg.
Die Strecke verläuft über das Tablat-Plateau, ein überwiegend flaches Gebiet oberhalb von Magrè, und ist etwa 2,5 km lang. Sie ist auch für Familien geeignet.
