Il Mart è il Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto. La sede principale, situata a Rovereto, è un ampio complesso architettonico inaugurato nel 2002, progettato da Mario Botta e Giulio Andreolli. Concezione e organizzazione del Mart puntano più a creare un polo culturale che un museo tradizionale, integrandosi con la Biblioteca Civica e l’Auditorium Melotti.

Fondato nel 1987 come ente funzionale della Provincia autonoma di Trento, il Mart opera in tre sedi principali: a Rovereto, oltre alla sede centrale, si trovano la Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero; a Trento, dal 2013, fa parte del Mart anche la Galleria Civica di Trento.

Concepito come una vera agorà contemporanea, il Mart dialoga con il territorio attraverso spazi pubblici e collaborazioni con il teatro, l’università e altri luoghi culturali, inserendosi nel più ampio panorama culturale del Trentino. La posizione extra-metropolitana del museo ha permesso di sviluppare un’offerta turistico-culturale che unisce arte, natura, benessere e unicità.

Il patrimonio del Mart comprende capolavori dell’arte italiana del XX secolo e ogni anno il museo produce numerose mostre e progetti. La struttura si avvale di un team di curatori, conservatori, ricercatori, archivisti e professionisti della formazione, della comunicazione e della divulgazione scientifica, garantendo un’esperienza culturale completa e aggiornata.

The Mart is the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Trento and Rovereto. Its main location in Rovereto is a large architectural complex inaugurated in 2002, designed by Mario Botta and Giulio Andreolli. The Mart was conceived more as a cultural hub than a traditional museum, connecting its public spaces with the Civic Library and the Melotti Auditorium.

Founded in 1987 as an agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Mart operates across three main sites: in Rovereto, besides the main building, there is the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero; in Trento, since 2013, the Galleria Civica di Trento has been part of the Mart.

Designed as a contemporary agora, the Mart engages with the surrounding territory through its public spaces and collaborations with theaters, universities, and other cultural venues, forming part of the broader cultural landscape of Trentino. Das Mart ist das Museum für Moderne und Zeitgenössische Kunst von Trento und Rovereto. Der Hauptsitz in Rovereto ist ein großer architektonischer Komplex, der 2002 eingeweiht wurde und von Mario Botta und Giulio Andreolli entworfen wurde. Der Mart wurde eher als kulturelles Zentrum denn als traditionelles Museum konzipiert und verbindet seine öffentlichen Bereiche mit der Stadtbibliothek und dem Melotti-Auditorium.

Gegründet 1987 als Einrichtung der Autonomen Provinz Trient, ist der Mart an drei Standorten tätig: In Rovereto gibt es neben dem Hauptgebäude die Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero; in Trento ist seit 2013 die Galleria Civica di Trento Teil des Mart.

Als zeitgenössische Agora konzipiert, arbeitet der Mart eng mit dem umliegenden Gebiet zusammen, durch öffentliche Räume und Kooperationen mit Theatern, Universitäten und anderen Kulturstätten, und ist Teil der breiteren Kulturlandschaft des Trentino. Die Lage außerhalb einer Metropolregion ermöglicht ein qualitativ hochwertiges kultur-touristisches Angebot, das Kunst, Natur, Wohlbefinden und Einzigartigkeit verbindet.
