Nel territorio collinare di Drena, lungo i sentieri che si snodano tra i boschi e le aree coltivate a castagneti, si sviluppa l'Open Air Gallery. Questa galleria a cielo aperto raccoglie installazioni di Land Art e sculture nate dall'incontro tra la creatività di artisti nazionali e internazionali e la natura dell'Alto Garda.
Il progetto nasce con l'obiettivo di creare un percorso espositivo dove il paesaggio diventa parte integrante e attiva dell'opera d'arte stessa.
La struttura: il Percorso della Luna e il Percorso del Sole
L'esposizione si articola in due percorsi tematici distinti, ciascuno caratterizzato da una propria identità concettuale, spaziale e da differenti livelli di difficoltà escursionistica:

Il Percorso della Luna (Adatto a tutti): Questo itinerario si snoda in modo agevole ai due lati della strada, rimanendo nella parte più bassa e riparata del bosco. Caratterizzato da un terreno regolare e dall'ombra rinfrescante delle fronde, evoca temi legati al mistero, al sogno e al silenzio. È un tracciato accessibile a ogni tipologia di visitatore, ideale per famiglie o per una passeggiata rilassante e meditativa.

Il Percorso del Sole (Per escursionisti più esperti): Più impegnativo e avventuroso, questo sentiero sale in mezzo al suggestivo paesaggio glaciale delle Marocche. Le opere collocate in questa sezione dialogano con la luce diretta e con il paesaggio arido e solenne dei grandi massi di pietra. L'itinerario richiede maggiore attenzione in quanto presenta alcuni tratti esposti che richiedono passo sicuro e assenza di vertigini.
Caratteristiche delle opere e della fruizione

La filosofia del progetto: Le installazioni sono realizzate principalmente con elementi naturali locali come legno, pietra, ferro e rami intrecciati. Essendo composte da elementi biodegradabili, le opere sono soggette a un costante processo di deterioramento dovuto al tempo e alle stagioni.

La fruizione: L'accesso a entrambi i percorsi dell'Open Air Gallery è libero e gratuito durante tutto l'anno. Non esistono barriere o percorsi obbligati, lasciando al visitatore la libertà di esplorare i due itinerari a seconda delle proprie capacità e del proprio ritmo.
Informazioni utili per la visita

Accesso e parcheggio: Il punto di partenza consigliato si trova nei pressi dell'abitato di Drena. I due percorsi sono indicati da apposita segnaletica in loco che guida i visitatori lungo le rispettive varianti (Sole e Luna).

Calzature e sicurezza: Si consiglia l'uso di scarpe da trekking leggero con suola antiscivolo per il Percorso della Luna. Per chi affronta il Percorso del Sole, sono invece caldamente raccomandati scarponcini da trekking strutturati e un'adeguata preparazione per i passaggi esposti tra le rocce.

Tutela delle opere: Trattandosi di un'esposizione all'aperto basata sulla fragilità dei materiali naturali, è richiesto il massimo rispetto per le installazioni: si prega di non toccarle o salirvi e di non abbandonare rifiuti lungo il percorso.

Set in the hilly landscape of Drena, along the paths winding through woodlands and chestnut groves, lies the Open Air Gallery. This open-air exhibition features Land Art installations and sculptures born from the collaboration between national and international artists and the pristine nature of the Upper Garda region.
The project was designed to create an exhibition route where the surrounding landscape is not merely a backdrop, but an active, integral part of the artwork itself.
The Structure: The Moon Path and the Sun Path
The exhibition is divided into two distinct thematic routes, each characterized by its own conceptual identity, setting, and level of hiking difficulty:

The Moon Path (Suitable for everyone): This easy trail winds along both sides of the road, remaining in the lower, sheltered section of the woods. Featuring flat, even terrain and the refreshing shade of the tree canopy, it evokes themes of mystery, dreams, and silence. It is accessible to all visitors, making it ideal for families or for a relaxing, meditative walk.

The Sun Path (For experienced hikers): More challenging and adventurous, this trail climbs through the striking glacial landscape of the Marocche rock slides. The artworks in this section interact with direct sunlight and the arid, solemn environment of the massive boulders. This route requires greater caution as it features some exposed sections that demand a sure foot and a good head for heights.
Artworks and Visitor Experience

The Project Philosophy: The installations are made primarily from local natural materials such as wood, stone, iron, and woven branches. Composed of biodegradable elements, the artworks are subject to a continuous, natural process of weathering and decay over time and through the seasons.

Access: Entry to both routes of the Open Air Gallery is free of charge and open year-round. There are no barriers or mandatory paths, allowing visitors to explore both itineraries at their own pace and according to their abilities.
Practical Information for Visitors

Access and Parking: The recommended starting point is near the town of Drena. Both routes are marked with local signposts guiding visitors along the respective variants (Sun and Moon).

Footwear and Safety: Light hiking shoes with a good grip are recommended for the Moon Path. For those tackling the Sun Path, sturdy hiking boots and adequate preparation for the exposed rocky passages are highly recommended.

Protecting the Art: As this is an outdoor exhibition based on the fragility of natural materials, visitors are asked to show the utmost respect for the installations: please do not touch or climb on them, and do not leave any litter along the trails.

Das Projekt hat zum Ziel, einen Ausstellungsweg zu schaffen, bei dem die Landschaft nicht nur Kulisse ist, sondern zu einem aktiven und integralen Bestandteil des Kunstwerks selbst wird.

Der Pfad des Mondes (Für alle geeignet): Diese leichte Route schlängelt sich bequem auf beiden Seiten der Straße entlang und bleibt im niedrigeren, geschützten Teil des Waldes. Sie zeichnet sich durch ebenes Gelände und den kühlenden Schatten des Blätterdachs aus und greift Themen wie Geheimnis, Traum und Stille auf. Der Weg ist für jeden Besucher zugänglich und eignet sich ideal für Familien oder für einen entspannenden, meditativen Spaziergang.

Der Pfad der Sonne (Für erfahrene Wanderer): Anspruchsvoller und abenteuerlicher führt dieser Pfad hinauf in die eindrucksvolle eiszeitliche Steinlandschaft der Marocche. Die Kunstwerke in diesem Abschnitt interagieren mit dem direkten Sonnenlicht und der kargen, feierlichen Kulisse der riesigen Felsblöcke. Diese Route erfordert erhöhte Aufmerksamkeit, da sie einige ausgesetzte Abschnitte aufweist, die Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit voraussetzen.

Schuhwerk und Sicherheit: Für den Pfad des Mondes werden leichte Wanderschuhe mit griffiger Sohle empfohlen. Wer den Pfad der Sonne in Angriff nimmt, sollte unbedingt feste Wanderschuhe tragen und auf die ausgesetzten Felspassagen vorbereitet sein.
