La Ciclabile Sud-Ovest del Lago di Garda collega Peschiera del Garda a Desenzano del Garda attraversando la famosa penisola di Sirmione. Si tratta di un percorso ideale per chi desidera unire sport, relax e scoperta culturale, pedalando lungo il lago fino a uno dei luoghi più iconici del Garda.

Punto di partenza
Dal centro di Peschiera del Garda raggiungi Via Milano e segui la pista ciclopedonale che costeggia la Strada Gardesana in direzione ovest.

Da Peschiera del Garda a Sirmione

Dopo circa 10 chilometri quasi interamente pianeggianti, arriverai alla suggestiva penisola di Sirmione. Qui è consigliabile lasciare la bicicletta e proseguire a piedi nel centro storico, attraversando le antiche mura del Castello Scaligero.

Continuando verso la punta della penisola potrai visitare le celebri Grotte di Catullo e raggiungere Jamaica Beach, una delle spiagge più caratteristiche del Lago di Garda, perfetta per una pausa rilassante.

Da Sirmione a Desenzano del Garda

Riprendendo il percorso, torna sulla Strada Gardesana e continua verso Desenzano del Garda. L’itinerario attraversa Rivoltella, piccolo borgo affacciato sul lago, prima di arrivare nel centro di Desenzano, caratterizzato dal pittoresco porto vecchio e dal suo storico faro.

Ritorno a Peschiera del Garda

Per il viaggio di ritorno puoi scegliere tra due alternative:

• tornare in bicicletta percorrendo la stessa ciclabile dell’andata;

• utilizzare il servizio battello da Desenzano a Peschiera del Garda. In alcuni casi potrebbe essere necessario effettuare un cambio a Sirmione prima di raggiungere la destinazione finale.

The South-West Cycle Path of Lake Garda connects Peschiera del Garda to Desenzano del Garda, passing through the famous peninsula of Sirmione. This route is ideal for those who want to combine sport, relaxation, and cultural discovery while cycling along the lake toward one of the most iconic destinations on Lake Garda.

Starting Point

From the center of Peschiera del Garda, reach Via Milano and follow the cycling and pedestrian path running alongside the Strada Gardesana heading west.

From Peschiera del Garda to Sirmione

After around 10 kilometers of mostly flat terrain, you will arrive at the charming peninsula of Sirmione. Here, it is recommended to leave your bike and continue on foot through the historic center, passing the ancient walls of the Scaliger Castle.

Continuing toward the tip of the peninsula, you can visit the famous Grottoes of Catullus and reach Jamaica Beach, one of the most distinctive beaches on Lake Garda, perfect for a relaxing break.

From Sirmione to Desenzano del Garda

Once back on the route, return to the Strada Gardesana and continue toward Desenzano del Garda. The itinerary passes through Rivoltella, a small lakeside village, before reaching the center of Desenzano, known for its picturesque old harbor and historic lighthouse.

Return to Peschiera del Garda

For the return journey, you can choose between two options:

• cycle back along the same route;

• take a ferry from Desenzano to Peschiera del Garda. In some cases, a transfer in Sirmione may be required before reaching the final destination.

Startpunkt

Vom Zentrum von Peschiera del Garda aus erreichst du die Via Milano und folgst dem Rad- und Fußweg entlang der Strada Gardesana in westlicher Richtung.

Von Peschiera del Garda nach Sirmione

Nach etwa 10 Kilometern auf überwiegend flacher Strecke erreichst du die malerische Halbinsel Sirmione. Dort empfiehlt es sich, das Fahrrad abzustellen und den historischen Ortskern zu Fuß zu erkunden, vorbei an den alten Mauern der Scaligerburg.

Wenn du weiter bis zur Spitze der Halbinsel gehst, kannst du die berühmten Grotten des Catull besuchen und die Jamaica Beach erreichen – einen der charakteristischsten Strände des Gardasees, ideal für eine entspannte Pause.

Von Sirmione nach Desenzano del Garda

Zurück auf der Strecke folgst du erneut der Strada Gardesana in Richtung Desenzano del Garda. Die Route führt zunächst durch Rivoltella, einen kleinen Ort direkt am See, bevor du das Zentrum von Desenzano erreichst, das für seinen malerischen alten Hafen und den historischen Leuchtturm bekannt ist.

Rückfahrt nach Peschiera del Garda

Für die Rückfahrt stehen zwei Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung:

• mit dem Fahrrad entlang derselben Strecke zurückfahren;

• oder die Fähre von Desenzano nach Peschiera del Garda nehmen. In einigen Fällen ist ein Umstieg in Sirmione erforderlich, bevor das endgültige Ziel erreicht wird.
