Roggia di Calavino

Il tratto più suggestivo della Roggia è certamente quello che risale la forra dei Canevai, nella quale la Roggia ha scavato il proprio letto nella roccia, alternando cascate a profonde pozze. Qui si trova la rara sorgente pietrificante: particolare tipo di sorgente, popolato da muschi e sfagni, nella quale si forma tufo o travertino. La ricchezza d'acqua di questa porzione di valle ha creato habitat naturali particolari.

Un sentiero attrezzato si snoda lungo tutta la Roggia per consentirne una piacevole visita e scoprire le tracce delle numerose attività artigianali che usavano l'acqua come forza motrice.

The most spectacular part of the Roggia torrent is the section that climbs the Canevai gorge where the torrent has gouged its bed into the rock, creating a series of waterfalls and deep pools. Here there is also a rare petrified spring, home to mosses and sphagnum, where tufo or travertine forms. The abundance of water in this stretch of the valley has created particular natural habitats.

A path has been built along the entire length of the torrent to allow visitors to enjoy this unique environment and discover the so many artcrafts using water power.
